Topic > Impact of Owning a Pet

I have always had a natural love for animals of all kinds. The fact that something created or put these living beings on this earth to live in harmony with humans baffles me. Or at least they should live in harmony with us and we should live with them. Unfortunately, in most cases, this is not the case, unless we are talking about owning a domesticated pet. This is where my love comes in. Many children will continually beg their parents for a pet of some kind until the parent gives up or completely extinguishes the child's hopes and dreams of having that companion. I find it very surprising and astonishing to discover this scientific information. Sometimes I wonder why my parents take blood pressure medications and don't just surround themselves with hundreds of adorable dogs. There's also the giant liability factor. This is perhaps the main reason why people don't get pets, but I also believe it should be the main reason why they do. It's important to make sure that if you buy a pet to partly keep your child company, you need to let them know that you won't be the only one doing all the dirty work. However, as a kid who grew up with multiple pets in the house, I can definitely say that it only helped me. It taught me responsibility and how important it is to make sure that if you're willing to spend your money on a pet, it's worth spending a lot of time making sure they aren't alone or neglected.
