Topic > Homicidal Attacks in the United States

IntroductionIn relation to homicidal incidents, the United States of America is among the top ten countries in the world ranking. In the National Survey it was documented that each year approximately 10,000 members were killed by firearms and another 40,000 members were disabled. Generally the term murder refers to the act of an individual being killed by another individual. In this regard there are some factors that play a vital role and cause the great risk of murderous attacks. The basic factors that cause murders could be age, race, gender and living in poor areas could be some of the reasons for increasing the threat of murderous attacks. In general, murderous threats are carried out by the group of members. Homicides are classified into several including vehicular homicides and domestic homicides. Street killings refer to the threat caused by unknown people. Domestic homicide refers to the threat caused by relatives or friends. Say no to plagiarism. We considered that the dataset which was uploaded in the Kaggle source dates back to the year 2017. The dataset that was considered is an add-on for the “Murder Accountability” project. In our project we have complete information on incidents of manslaughter that occurred in the United States of America. In this dataset the Federal Bureau of Investigation compiled reports on homicide incidents that occurred across America between 1980 and 2014. In this report the data collected is based on approximately 22,000 undescribed homicide incidents. In this dataset we consider attributes such as age, gender, ethnicity, and race of the victims and killer. And we also considered some attributes such as the relationship and weapons used between the victims and the perpetrators. The following graphs were used in the information graphics: Different types of weapons used by offenders based on race and the type of crime solved based on the incident that occurred. Homicide attacks based on the age of the victim. Homicide rate in the United States. Analysis of homicide incidents have occurred at the state level and have been resolved. Gender-based murder attacks in several states of America. Annual analysis of the total number of homicide incidents that occurred based on the age of the perpetrator. Homicidal incidents by perpetrator ethnicity and age. In our project the dataset we have considered is based on the homicide incident report which occurred in the period 1980-2014 and was uploaded in the year 2017. The first step is to download the dataset from the Kaggle source and create a visualization with the help of Software in the public version of Tableau. The next step is to create multiple visualizations based on the measures and dimensions provided in the dataset. For the complete process, the tool used to create the graphic information is Visme & Tableau Public software. We can create a lot of graphic information through Visme software with the help of tools such as templates, photos, icons and shapes. Visme software is a widely used software to create graphical information through which we can build a story. In this we load a background on the block page and also add some views that we have integrated into the tableau software. We can also use the icons and shape tools by long dragging and dropping them while adding the particular text. We can usesome icons and shapes from the software or even download them from online. Some of the images downloaded from online can also be edited in Photoshop software. When ¾ of the information graphics part is created, there may be some images or visualizations whose size cannot be set, so we finally add the image to the Visme library and after that we can add it to the canvas to resize the visualization to the expected size. The next procedure is that we can resize the images with the help of Microsoft Paint software. From the information graphs we are trying to predict the overall murder attacks that occurred in the different states of America. In this information graphic we are trying to build the story based on the percentage of homicidal attacks that have occurred based on factors such as ethnicity, age, gender, race, incidents and crimes solved. The first visualization considered is based on different types of weapons used by killers depending on age and race. In this the weapon used is the hand gun of the black race. Then comes the white race who mainly uses guns. The weapon used a lot by the race is that of suffocation with the unknown race. The second view represents the Crime Type and solved based on the incident that occurred. In this we have two categories of crimes one is negligent manslaughter and the other is murder. In this we have the highest percentage of solved murders. And we have a lower percentage for negligence for which the crime history was still pending. The third view of the donut chart represents homicidal attacks that occurred based on the age of the victim. From this it was clearly explained that depending on the state, the severity of the murderous attacks occurred based on the age of the victim. The fourth view represents the analysis of homicide incidents that occurred and resolved by state. Based on the state, the severity of the crime rate varies from state to state in the United States of America, where the crime rate for homicide incidents is most commonly seen. There are also some states where the crime rate of homicides has been resolved. The next visualization is the treemap representing gender-based homicide attacks that occurred in different states of America. Here in the state of California manslaughter is relatively more frequent among males than females, where males have mostly been killed or disabled in the attacks. The lowest rate of homicidal attacks occurred among women in the state of North Dakota. From a Gantt perspective, it clearly represents the annual analysis of the total number of homicide incidents that occurred based on the age of the perpetrator. In the year 1981 homicides were relatively high based on the age of the perpetrator. Subsequently, in 1993, manslaughters were somewhat controlled. At the end of 2016, homicide incidents were significantly lower. The final representation is the stacked bars representing homicide incidents that occurred by offender ethnicity and age. Here there are fewer crimes for the Hispanic ethnic group. Multiple murderous attacks against unknown ethnicities have occurred. The main intention of the information graphic design is to make the public understand the impact of murder incidents on the United States of America and the severity of the violence. I used the color yellow in the background which indicates positivity and happiness. I used the contrasting background color to explain that America is an advanced country in economy and technology, but in some scenarios such as gun violence and murderous attacks it is cowardice. I used multiple colors in different graph visualizations just to represent the impact of the killings.
