Topic > My Goals to Become a Computer Scientist for NASA

Since starting high school, I have placed 2nd in the regions and states in Public Speaking 1 for Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Last year I also qualified to advance to FBLA Nationals. My advancement to Nationals last year gave me the opportunity to speak to the BCPS Board of Education at the May 2013 Board of Education meeting. Additionally, I placed 2nd in Regionals for Business Presentation and will advance to States in April 2014. I have also maintained a 3.88 GPA for the past year. Additionally, I have remained busy planning events and volunteering for Key Club. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on "Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned"? Get an original essay This summer I would like to get a job, spend more hours volunteering, and possibly take a college course. My other goals in high school are to place (top 10) at Nationals for FBLA in the future. I would also like to get a score of 2400 or a score very close to it on the SAT I. Additionally, I plan to take the Math Level 1 and Physics SAT II tests and hope to get scores close to 800. Additionally, I would like to get a 5 on the AP World History exam and 4 and 5 on my future AP exams. Also, I would like to get my GPA to 3.9 when I'm a senior. Additionally, I hope to be a part of the National Honor Society and obtain a leadership position my junior and senior year. To achieve these goals, I need to improve my weak areas on the SAT. I will do this by self-taught, taking an SAT Prep course over the summer, and taking an SAT Prep course my freshman year. Additionally, to enter the National Honor Society, I must complete my requirements and turn in my forms on time. Also, to get 4s and 5s on AP exams, I have to commit to studying sessions 3-4 times a week 3 months before the exam. Additionally, I must dedicate myself to my competitive event and my clubs in order to be placed on the FBLA Nationals and obtain a leadership position. Beyond that, I will complete my resume, fill out job applications, enroll in college courses, and engage in volunteer service at school to find a job, take college courses, and increase my volunteer hours. Finally, to raise my GPA and get a 3.9, I must continue to do my schoolwork and try to consistently get straight A's for the rest of my high school career. While I was in high school, I have an ideal of what I plan to do. I am the future. My desired major for college would be Computer Science with a minor in Electrical Engineering. The location of the colleges I am looking for is not in the state of Maryland, but preferably within 4-6 hours of home. Visually, I plan on going to college somewhere in the Northeast or Southeast. The universities that have contacted me and that I will keep in touch with are Duke University, Boston University, Northwestern University and the Rochester Institute of Technology. In the summer of junior and senior year, I will contact other colleges such as Yale, Virginia Tech, and Brown University to schedule college visits. This year I have been involved in community service within the school. I plan to volunteer at the fashion show, some Key-Club based projects, and a project I'm currently doing for my guidance counselor. For community service outside of school, I will volunteer for the Arts and Craft Festival at Hampton Plaza in the fall and spring and may volunteer at the library during the summer. This summer I plan to get a job near the Towson area, preferably from.
