The Manhattan Project was a very important event in the history of World War II. He began the development of the atomic bomb and other nuclear weapons which were of great help during the war. It all started with a German scientist splitting the uranium atom, which made people fear what Hitler might be capable of. Hitler and his people had also begun to discover new types of weapons that would be useful during the war. Something that Hitler apparently didn't think about at all was the persecution of Jewish scientists like Albert Einstein, who could very well have used his skills against Hitler. Albert Einstein was a Jewish refugee in the United States. Another very important scientist, although not Jewish, was Enrico Fermi, who had fled Italian fascism and moved to the United States. These two really smart men knew what Hitler was doing with the atomic bomb.
