Students should feel comfortable sharing their thoughts with peers; the teacher should promote growth and a positive learning environment. Classrooms that involve learning through instructional aids and technology will be the most beneficial to students. Teachers who facilitate learning, who do not act as the Sage on a stage, but as the Guide on the side, and allow children to grow, explore and learn, are of great benefit to students. A safe learning environment is one in which children are given enough freedom and encouragement to become the people they are destined to become, while receiving enough structure and support to feel confident in the steps they need to take. People, not just children, learn best when they feel accepted for their differences and do not feel belittled for theirs.
