Time ManagementTime management is a term used to describe the use of productive time. Time management is all about the perception of the task that needs to be accomplished. Is the project long-term or short-term? Is it something that needs to be done over a period of time? Is it a personal goal or is it a request from a superior? Defining time management and applying it to my life has created some questions about how successful I will be as an employee, student, mother, and wife while creating a balance between obligations and time. My goals are to be the best person I can be for my family and myself. I try to create family values by bringing family together in many ways. Some of the ideas I need to encourage every day are preparing meals together and going for walks. At dinner time we cook, eat and clean while talking about our day. When I have free time, I like to explore hobbies and crafts that we can all do as a family. Those moments we spend together strengthen my belief that closeness as a family will help and that being there for each other. Unfortunately, in my daily routine, I feel like I don't spend enough time with my family. Our nightly routine usually consists of us all getting ready for bed at the same time, but I'd rather take this special time to read with my kids. This is one area where better time discipline can be to my advantage. During this evaluation process, my personal time log reveals that I may have packed too much into one day. I simply give myself some personal time two or three times a day. If I were to limit my personal time to a maximum of once a day this will allow me to restructure inappropriately used time, giving me the family time I love. My morning routine consists of... middle of paper... give me the opportunity to become more productive. The rewards will simply present themselves through perseverance in achieving my goals. If I become overwhelmed with daily tasks due to lack of time, I will need to revisit my daily time log making sure I still use my journal as reinforcement along with my other tools such as the timer and support system. My first choice creating a well-managed life would mean spending more quality time with my family and being more productive at work. Based on my findings about personal time management, to my surprise, the time was divided appropriately! To improve time management, changes that could be made would be to shorten some activities and identify tasks that distract me from losing focus on my goals. The changes that could be made are simple and effective. Perseverance is the key to my success.
