Everything has pros and cons, as does technology and the use of aeronautics. However, there are many incidents where people only remember the benefits while neglecting the side effects that come with it. One of the most famous incidents is the Kosovo war, which is known for bringing human rights to people who are deprived of them due to their different ethnicity, but we cannot simply conclude that Serbs were the aggressors and Albanians the victims . Likewise, on the one hand, the superior technology acquired by NATO and the United States has demonstrated that technology means power to get what they want. On the other hand, technology developed by people can bring disaster to people by increasing mortality rate during war and exploiting other people's resources, supporting Daniel R. Headrick's Power over People perspective. The contribution of technology, especially NATO and US air power cannot be denied. The matter was resolved quickly and cheaply as there were almost no ground troops and navy sailors sent to fight against the Serbs. One of the main weapons used by the Air Force was precision-guided munitions. These aircraft could provide ordnance, surveillance and carry out bombing raids. Furthermore, these planes created less panic among civilians because they caused less damage to various civilian infrastructures. These methods were not available without the help or development of technology. The technological superiority of external forces panicked the Serbian military and eventually drove them out. The advancement of aviation has allowed NATO to keep up with its enemies and not know what to do. Headrick's book Power over People also makes the point that the development of air... middle of paper... his example is Aztec. The Spaniards' firearms, combined with disease, devastated the local population. The progress of medical technology also allowed the Spaniards to be safer than the local population, who were scientifically inferior to the Europeans. Eventually, the Spanish easily took over the lands of the local populations and exploited their resources. As all of these cases demonstrate, better technology has given more power to people, and as people gain more power, they have a tendency to dominate and exploit other people. The Albanians were not just victims while the Serbs were not just aggressors. Both are victims and perpetrators. Likewise, technology has helped and harmed people. The Kosovo War supports Headrick's idea of Power over People by stating that technology helps people get what they want; technology makes people's lives worse; technology means power.
