IntroductionHuman beings are considered the highest form of living beings on earth. This is not attributed to the human body being strong or agile, because there are numerous animals that possess strength and agility far beyond the imagination of humans. The main feature that distinguishes humans from all other organisms is the brain. The brain is the powerhouse of the body. But this is also the place of the mind. The mind is said to give humans a higher status than other creatures. With this significant characteristic, humans have the ability to reason, feel and adapt. Man has traveled many miles beyond the capabilities of any other living thing, and there are many more feats to achieve. Structure of the Brain The brain has three main parts, the cerebrum, the cerebellum and the brainstem. The brain is divided into regions that control specific functions. The cerebrum is the largest part of the brain, it controls some functions such as perception, imagination, thinking, judgment and decision making. The surface of the brain (cerebral cortex) is made up of six thin layers of neurons, which rest on a large surface area of white matter pathways. The cortex is extremely convoluted and coiled to the point that, if it were extended, it could actually take up as much as 2.5 square feet and includes 10 billion neurons and approximately 50 trillion synapses. The farthest part is the frontal lobe and it is very important because its responsibility consists of voluntary movement and planning is considered the most significant part for personality and intelligence. Behind the frontal lobe is the parietal lobe, which includes the somatosensory area which appears to be right...... in the middle of the paper... basic homework. It is more common among older people. Alzheimer's disease is named after Dr. Alois Alzheimer who in 1906 noticed changes in the brain tissue of a woman who died of mental illness. Scientists have not understood what causes Alzheimer's disease, but it is clear that it develops because of a complex series of events that occur in the brain over an accumulated period of time. Alzheimer's disease is complex and there is no guidance on how to delay, prevent or cure it. Although drugs such as rivastigime, galantamine and donepezil are used to treat the mild and early stages of Alzheimer's, there are also drugs to treat some particular symptoms of Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's such as drowsiness, agitation, wandering and depression
