In most countries there is a shortage of healthcare resources. So if we allowed people to resort to euthanasia, it would free up valuable resources. Some sick and potentially saveable patients are unable to quickly access the facilities they need for treatment. At the same time, incurable people who would prefer not to continue living use scarce healthcare resources.
