Topic > The Cons of Legalizing Euthanasia - 981

You woke up this morning and looked out the window at the start of a new day. Normally we don't focus on the fact that we are alive and well. We probably take our lives for granted. But there will be a day when it will be our last day. Many would like this day to be peaceful and without suffering. Is it possible to check it now? Many doctors have argued about legalizing a drug used to end a patient's suffering. This drug is called euthanasia and its function is to give a "good" death. Now, would this drug really give a better death than we would have naturally? Furthermore, it is not ethically correct for the person to do something like this to themselves and what problems do you think the doctor would have if he started prescribing it to patients who requested it? Who will decide whether we can undergo euthanasia? Would it be us, the doctor, the government, God, or any other intervention? I believe there is one big problem with this drug, and that is death. We cannot predict whether things will improve in the future and the last day will come for everyone when the time is right. The first problem with euthanasia is that it is morally wrong for someone to kill another person even if they ask for it. As a person I feel that it is wrong to kill someone; yes, in wars we do it all the time, but even if many people do it, it doesn't mean it's right. Many have said that in the scripts they believe we cannot control our lives. They think it is anti-religious and inhumane to allow people to take charge of their lives instead of God. Many religious people believe that God will control our death whether we like it or not. If euthanasia were legalized, it would most likely be in the middle of the paper... it would turn into a huge chaos of people dying. Honestly this way of seeking a non-suffering death is very inhumane. Euthanasia is absolutely unethical, especially for doctors who have to treat it and watch what happens to their patients. How would you feel seeing people dying faster and faster every day from this drug? It must be heartbreaking especially if you've studied to try to save people's lives. We should try to solve a problem instead of creating new ones with euthanasia. Legalizing euthanasia would make us more morbid. Life is a wonderful thing and we should live it to the fullest. There are many other options we could have instead of euthanasia. We want the best for humanity and should improve our technology to have the best healthcare and to help cure diseases. We also conduct research to improve our standard of living.
