The effectiveness of the PPE program will be monitored through inspection of equipment and periodic monitoring of procedures to review, update, evaluate and access the effectiveness of the PPE program (CCOHS, 2016). Changes in legislative requirements, new information on the properties of hazards, and changes in the process itself are circumstances that can invalidate parts of a written program or render it obsolete (Nims, 1999). Internal audits will be carried out annually, while external audits will be carried out every three years for the general review of the programme. Critical areas of concern requiring immediate action will be reviewed frequently (CCOHS, 2016). When there are changes in the work process, reported PPE failure or introduction of new PPE, the program will be reviewed. The audit of the DPI program can be carried out in the following ways: Audit of the individual components of the DPI programme. Review procedures following changes to work processes. Self-assessments carried out by PPE users
