“The Twisted Tragedy of Miss Natalie Stewart”1 ) The story “The Twisted Tragedy of Miss Natalie Stewart” is about a 17-year-old girl named Natalie Stewart who leaves New York City with her boyfriend Jonathan, 18, to search for answers. At the beginning of the story takes place on a train. Natalie and Jonathan are running from demons, spirits, and supernatural ghosts that seem to follow them wherever they go. At the beginning of the story Jonathan and Natalie are introduced as cousins. They pretended to be cousins, so no one would suspect that he was the boy who killed his family. A couple of hours on the train and people began to recognize him. He noticed this and switched from his English accent to a New York one. He reassured them that he was not Lord Denbury, when he was. At the next stop they thought they would find him a better disguise. The next train dropped them off at his old workshop/house. Where his body was separated from his soul and replaced by a demon. From where his soul was put in a painting and sent away. When they got there, Jonathan assured his old roommates that Natalie was nothing more than one of his patients, who could neither hear nor speak. At first Natalie was angry and felt quite offended as she said to herself “Why would she say I can't speak as if I can't speak for myself? What was I not smart enough to have my own opinions? I don't understand why he would say I can't hear either. So, do they have too many secrets that I can't hear?" but the more Natalie thought about it, the more she thought there HAD to be an explanation for him cutting her off and changing her name to Ms. Rose. She didn't understand any of it. When Jonathan told her finally explained that there are a lot of people... in the middle of the paper... you have to do away with them.2) "The Twisted Tragedy of Miss Natalie Stewart" means the crazy, crazy, twisted events that happened in this story are all surrounded by Natalie because she is there cause. Natalie always ends up involving when it doesn't just affect the people around her. Natalie understood that she was at the center of the problems. Natalie was the cause and the solution to these tragedies that happen to the people around her. 3) This story seems to be set in the early 1900s and late 1800s. I know this because a certain Jonathan has to ask his father's permission to marry his daughter. The women in this story also had to wear dresses and corsets at all times. Girls also didn't have many rights and boys attended school longer than girls. The genre of this story is Gothic literature, I know this from the demons, ghosts and spirits that take place in this story.
