Topic > HIV/AIDS and Modern Medical Inventions - 1400

IntroductionEven though there is rapid progress in medical inventions, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is still the most challenging virus that will drag human lives towards deadly disease of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). It spreads its wings everywhere. HIV cannot be cured, but it can be prevented. It has become the most life-threatening disease and affects an incredibly high percentage of humans. Nowadays, among other deadly diseases, HIV/AIDS becomes a more complex and crucial health problem that challenges several medical inventions. Several factors cause this deadly virus and disease such as promiscuity, homosexuality, female circumcision, sugar daddies, sexual crime, rape, prostitution, cultural practices, misconceptions, ignorance and denial as well as the increase in mobility and industrialization. If there is a problem, then there will always be a solution. However, the main solution for HIV/AIDS infection is none other than prevention. It can be treated to prolong the life of the person living with HIV, but it cannot be cured. In 2013, UNAIDS presented a report showing that 35.7 million adults and 2.1 million children are surviving with HIV. Third world countries become victims of this deadly disease due to ignorance, lack of education, poverty, cultural practices and the status of women. Incredibly, developing countries have 95% of their populations infected with HIV. This widespread health problem mostly affects women due to their status in many third world countries. In these countries, women lack education, awareness and equal status with men, as they are placed in a physically and emotionally weak position in the social hierarchy. If a woman is infected with HIV, her child will be... middle of paper... sick with cancer or some other deadly disease. It has become the most life-threatening disease and affects an incredibly high percentage of humans. Nowadays, among other deadly diseases, HIV/AIDS becomes a more complex and crucial health problem that challenges several medical inventions. Numerous studies have shown that even people infected with HIV can lead a normal life with appropriate medications. Although it cannot be cured, it can be controlled to some extent to help HIV infected people lead a peaceful life without difficulties. Women should get respect and equal status in society which can stop crimes, violence and injustice against women. Over 90% of HIV-infected children are born to HIV-positive mothers. Therefore, it is essential to take care of health and practice safe sex to save our earth from the deadly disease called HIV/AIDS..
