Murphy taught us the good and bad sides of social media “Foodie” culture. A silver lining to his argument explains how it really is an album of your life, as you reflect what you eat. The other side reveals that others who are not part of that culture, like me, perceive it as a waste of time and energy, since food is meant to be consumed and enjoyed in that sense, and not just for the visual appeal. . This also raises the question of determining what makes a food ethnic, since no matter how hard a person tries, if a certain dish is something a person is not used to eating, it will be foreign to them.
