Charlotte's Web Charlotte's Web is a children's book written by EB White. It was illustrated by Grath Williams. The book was published in 1952 by Harper and Brothers. Charlotte's Web was published three years after I began writing it. E.B. White was born on July 11, 1899. He was born in Mount Vernon, New York. He died on October 1, 1985. Charlotte's Web was voted the best children's book in a 2012 school poll. E.B. White was born in Mount Vernon, New York. He served in the Army before going to college. He graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1921. While at Cornell he worked as editor of the Cornell DailySun. He was also a member of the Aleph Samach and Quill and Dagger societies and Phi Gamma Delta. During this trip he took the nickname Andy. White was not only known for the children's book Charlotte's Web, but he also wrote the children's book Stuart Little in 1945. The main character of Charlotte's Web would be Wilbur the pig. The pig was very important in the book, without the pig they would never have been able to win the caraviale prize. Wilbur was a very special pig. He could talk and was Fern's best friend. In reality the pig would not be credible. No pig around here can talk or do some of the things Wilbur was able to do. I don't think Wilbur reacted the way I would have. He was a humble person and didn't know how to behave about some things. I am an open person and I can talk to anyone. I would say the antagonist in this book should be the dad. At the beginning of the story the father wanted to kill the pig because it was too small. Even if Fern was… halfway there… and to save the day. He created a new network that caught everyone's attention and changed the judges' minds. After this Charlotte won and was ready to compete again. My favorite quote from the book is "The pig couldn't help but be born small, could it? If I had been born very small, would you have killed me?" You can find this quote on page 3. I would recommend this book to anyone to read. It's a great story and can show anyone a lesson. I really liked it! Give a lesson. It shows that just because you might be small doesn't mean you can't do everything everyone else does. Even though it may be a children's book, everyone should take the time to read it. This is my summary of Charlotte's Web. I hope you enjoyed it so much that you thought you'd read it for yourself. I know I'm happy I took time out of my day to read it. I hope you do.
