We already have automated machines designed to make our lives easier: vacuum cleaners, car washes, dishwashers, washing machines, garbage shovels, etc. We have many automated technologies that we can set according to our personal preferences, such as TV and radio stations, thermostats, lighting, etc. Bill Gates even has a feature in his house that will turn off different paintings depending on who is in the room. We humans like shortcuts and simple luxuries, but with technology taking so much of our workload away we are allowing ourselves to be lazy. We already depend on technology. At the very least, we are already severely dependent on it. How many hours do we spend glued to our cell phones, watching TV or browsing the web?
