How it should be presented and when. Now, information is easily accessible to almost everyone. The media has often been called the gatekeepers of information. This phrase describes how it has always been the role of journalists to keep an eye out for information and then tell the people all the information. However, this also gave the media the power to control the information they wanted people to know. In recent times, however, power has passed to the people. Journalists can no longer withhold information or not report certain events, people have unlimited ways of accessing information and are not afraid to share it, in a sense they have become "secondary gatekeepers" of information.
