Believes that there are different ways to describe the qualities of a discursive community, i.e. that you need to have an open mind to be part of it, you need to be able to accept the fact that many ideas will come from many different people and will fall into all different genres. Swales also talks about how communication is key when it comes to being part of a discursive community. You must have the passion to help and the drive to make things better in life. I agree with what Swales has to say. I think he makes a lot of logical points about the discursive community and your opinion is based on how you look at it. It all depends on the people in the community, if they put in the effort they will succeed and if they don't
