Topic > Proposal regarding bullying - 896

I was thirteen when it happened. With a broken fist, a shifted jaw and a smug face, I entered the living room. I was in excruciating pain, but I enjoyed it. I enjoyed every second of it, because it was the day I showed the bully that I wasn't just another flower child, I was a lion who would take him down if necessary. Tears streaming down her cheeks, my mother rushed me to the hospital, worried sick. He asked, “WHY?” to which I proudly replied: “Because it had to be done.” This was the day I confronted a bully. Even though I knew I couldn't win, I had nothing to lose. We exchanged blows, we cried in pain, we fought until one of us fell. Since then, neither I nor my friends were ever bullied, we were free. Bullying is not just a friendly quarrel, it is not a minor dispute, it means stealing the joys of life from another, ruining one's life forever. Bullying has ruined countless lives and will continue to do so if severe action is not taken, bullying must be stopped and it must be stopped now. This proposal aims to eradicate bullying from our local high schools; By gathering conclusive evidence and implementing strong policies, we will put an end to bullying once and for all. Victims of bullying are 2 to 9 times more likely to commit suicide, adding to the already high suicide rates among adolescents. According to the ABC news network, 30% of students are victims of bullying, which means that 3 out of 10 teenagers are victims of bullying and then slowly slide into depression. How many of your friends are or have been victims of bullying? How many friends have they lost due to bullying? How many of them decided that the end was better than daily torture at the hands of a bully? I'm sure you know at least one couple who end up...... middle of paper ......cher, student and parent involved at our local high school. The estimated cost to install a CCTV camera in every room would be around fifty thousand dollars. While the money, time and effort is great, the consideration would be greater. Ensuring student safety, ensuring a reduction in suicide rates and adolescent depression are just the tip of the iceberg. By implementing these laws, we would be able to set an example and thus remind students that high school does not take issues like these lightly. Furthermore, the benefits of implementing CCTV system are visible all over the world: companies, banks, offices, everyone agrees that the implementation of CCTV system has drastically reduced all criminal activities in the company. The benefits far outweigh the hard work and therefore this proposal is bound to be successful
