Personal statement Social work is of great interest and personal meaning to me and I ultimately hope to realize my ambition of becoming a social worker. Having worked as a volunteer at Project Safe, which is a domestic violence helpline, I have realized that I have a passion for helping people. I really enjoy the work I do and it has taught me a lot. I am also currently studying Social Work Preparation at Demontfort University, where I have proven myself to be a committed student. I hope this course will enable me to get a place on the Social Work degree. During my time working on The Safe project I learned many new skills. It has helped me develop my communication skills with clients regarding sensitive issues, we deal with some very serious and upsetting cases but I always manage to remain professional whilst showing empathy at the same time.
