Topic > Career Influences: I want to become a veterinarian

Ringo was a horse I got from my parents when I was about 13 years old. I was obsessed with horses and had to have one. My father grew up on a farm/ranch where he, his father and his brother all used horses to work their livestock and this lifestyle has always interested me. Also, my cousin also influenced me to become a veterinarian because she also has livestock and I liked going to her farm and helping her with livestock shows for the county fair. She plans to become a veterinary technician, so we both planned that I would open a veterinary hospital and she would be one of my chief veterinary technicians. Then there is my mother, she is the one who has the backbone and the one who pushes me to do my best and prioritize my life. It pushes me to save all my money to succeed in my career and to do my best not to live in debt. Further influences I have had throughout my life would be the recent work I had at a veterinary hospital where I walk and groom hospitalized and retired pets. In addition to doing the sub-job, I can attend surgeries and hold pets during vaccinations and nail clipping. It is an amazing experience and makes me even more motivated to work harder on my career as an age veterinary surgeon
