In this article, Straton attempts to persuade religious audiences that the shift from teaching religion to teaching evolution in schools is wrong. He says that “the question is whether taxpayers – the mothers and fathers of children – will be forced to support false and materialistic religion, primarily evolution, in schools, while Christianity is excluded, and therefore denied to their children” (432 ). Straton does not believe that man is a “descendant of the slime and beasts of the jungle” (432), but as “a child of God”
