Peer influence is not necessarily a bad thing, we are all influenced by our peers both negatively and positively at any age. Teenagers are sometimes pressured to do things they don't want to do, it could be that they have to bully someone or fight, it could be a small thing and sometimes it takes a big toll on that person who is pressured to do these things for fit in. Peer pressure can affect some people for the rest of their lives in many different ways. Social anxiety is a discomfort or fear when a person interacts with society and involves the worry of being judged or evaluated by others. This affects approximately 7-13% of the population. People with social anxiety disorder tend to feel nervous or worry about embarrassing or humiliating themselves. Medications can relieve some of the symptoms of anxiety, but they also come with side effects and safety concerns, including the risk of addiction.
