In most stories, almighty God faces some sort of test to demonstrate his strength. As said in Tablet VII, "Let Marduk's song ring abroad / How he slew Tiamat and took the kingdom" (17-18). Marduk kills Tiamat and uses her body to create the world we live in. This is also shown in the Theogony: "He subdued his father, Cronus by force and for the gods / made a fair deal and gave each his dominion" (73-74) a text describing the triumph of the Olympian gods, led by Zeus, on the titans. The only distinction is how they continued to create man after their glorious victory. After discovering who had waged war against him, Marduk punished the traitor by using his blood to create man. As mentioned in tablet VI "It was Qingu who made war / He suborned Tiamat and lined up for battle / They bound him and held him before Ea / They imposed punishment on him and shed his blood / From his blood he created humanity" ( 29-33).
