The HolocaustDo you ever think about the horrible victims of the Holocaust? What if the allies had intervened earlier? What if everything could have been stopped in time? Well, I do, and it makes me feel terrible about what all those people went through. There were approximately 12 million deaths, half of whom were Jews. According to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the groups targeted during the Holocaust were Jews, the mentally and physically disabled, Gypsies, Slavic peoples (Poles, Russians and others). “Other groups were persecuted for political, ideological and behavioral reasons, including communists, socialists, Jehovah's Witnesses and homosexuals.” ("Introduction to the Holocaust") There were several reasons why the Holocaust was not stopped: first, no one knew for sure what was happening; furthermore, riots were almost impossible; the Nazis left almost no trace of the multitude of deaths; finally, why were these groups targeted? To begin with, these groups were targeted because they were seen as racially inferior to the German master race, thus seen as a threat to their racial community. According to the Holocaust Center, Jews have always been hated and mistreated by different cultures. Abraham worshiped only one god, at that time most religions were polytheistic and anyone who wasn't was considered crazy, so in these times the Jews were set aside for their belief in only one god. The first recorded massacre of the Jews took place in Alexandria, Egypt in the year 38. The Romans isolated, tortured, and killed the Jews. Christians held them responsible for the execution of Jesus Christ. Christians also blamed them for the bubonic plague epidemic which, as we all know, was caused by my flea-infected rats. The Spanish Inquiry... in the middle of the newspaper... a monstrous death. Hitler was malicious and outrageous. He called it "The Final Solution" "Racial Purification", well I call it pure evil.
