Famous street artist Banksy has gained a large following in the art community of which he himself is an important part. The art community initially ridiculed Banksy and has now been granted praise. However, Banky's art often protests the current culture of the art community, which revolves around spending large amounts of money to purchase art from people who have extensive training from expensive schools. Banksy, a special case, managed to emerge among the best street artists like Shepard Fairey without any real art training or education. The art community is depriving the rest of the world of ideas that could change the way everyone thinks or acts just because an artist is not qualified to show their art anywhere it is recognized. Banky's dismay at the art world is recognized through his art and is calling for a change in the art community to be more receptive to young artists. First, according to Will Ellsworth-Jones, Banksy is a British man from Bristol, where he learned stencil art as opposed to spray art which allows him to build much more intricate paintings much more quickly. Once Banksy started printing, his popularity began to rise. Many of Banksy's highly recognized early pieces managed to sneak onto museum walls. Banksy managed to install his interpretation of the Mona Lisa in the Louvre. The woman had a smiley face glued to hers. The Mona Lisa is the most iconic and well-known work of art and Banksy has contaminated it in his home. Banksy entered the Louvre hiding a painting, which he then placed on a wall. The painting was a copy of the Mona Lisa with a smiley face pasted on the woman's face. Banksy has been quoted saying: "having to actually go through the process of having a pai...... middle of paper......y" in the initiator's intentions this fact can bring unforeseen benefits to emerging artists development Banksy protested for. Any artist could use the notoriety that Banksy currently brings to capture the vision of their art without museums or art exhibitions. The fact that there is a possibility that the graffiti could be a Banksy would cause hordes of people to adorn the possible Banksy. It would be difficult to question the authenticity of the work if it is a quality work by Banksy, assuming that the real Banksy makes no statement regarding the creation of that work. I don't see why this would happen if the work was on par with Banksy's, given that he protests the unknown artist, unless Banksy wants to give credit where it's deserved, then that artist gets a positive review from Banksy giving him an “inside” into the artistic community and opportunities for further success.
