The next disciple to be called was Andrew, Peter's brother. Like Peter, Andrew's work was in the fishing industry. He was simply the average fisherman, fishing from early morning until it was too dark or too late to continue fishing. Matthew 4:18 confirms that the two brothers (Simon Peter and Andrew) were fishing together when Jesus told them to join him. The Bible states that he followed Jesus, but it says even more specifically in Matthew 4:20 that he followed him immediately or “immediately.” What made Andrew suddenly leave his job, his life and his family to follow this man?
