Over time there have been many world-famous orators, who have changed history forever. The power to speak and captivate an audience is a gift that not many possess. There have been numerous leaders around the world who have obtained this gift and put it to good use. There have been both positive and negative results of public speaking by famous leaders. Whether it is the African-American civil rights leader, Martin Luther King Jr., who changed the world and people's opinions for the better with his “I Have A Dream” speech, or the German dictator, Adolf Hitler, who promoted his anti-Semitic views through his Nazi speeches, people listened. People will always listen to these talks and learn something different each time. Different effects can be achieved through the skills used in speaking. It is sometimes hard to believe that Adolf Hitler was once one of the most talented and influential speakers in the world, due to the negative connotation that comes with his reputation. Reviewing his speeches, his techniques, his life and his mind is an enlightening experience. Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 in Austria to Alios Hitler and Klara Polzl. Hitler lived in Austria until the age of 3, at which time he moved with his family to Germany. Instead of taking Austrian German as his language, Hitler adopted the Lower Bavarian dialect. This remained his communicative language throughout his life. As a teenager Hitler served as a runner in France and Belgium during the First World War. At the end of the war Hitler was stationed in Munich, Bavaria. In Munich Kurt Eisner, leader of the Independent Socialist Party, declared Bavaria a socialist republic. Hitler was completely shocked by this… medium of paper… which serves as a great lesson in public speaking. Throughout history there have been many famous speakers, Adolf Hitler being one of the best.
