Education is a significant factor in the growth of students and teachers. Education has changed over the years as the past, present and future of education itself develop regularly. In the past, education has acquired many educational theories. One educational theory I would like to focus on is progressivism and how it has shaped education. In the past we have had many philosophers who have supported and guided the world of education. These philosophers shaped the structure of education. Exploring the history of education is fascinating. History really developed what education has become. Schools today are made up of three central aspects: classroom structure, curriculum, standards, and educational trends. Education today focuses on what children should learn, the environment in which it occurs, and who teaches them what and how. As a new teacher it is critical to create our own vision of what the purpose and structure of schools should be. PAST In the past, education was clear, defined and dry. I'm sure everyone has heard a story from their parents or grandparents: "In my day I walked 5 miles in the snow, rain, or heat to go to school." ring some bells! The past simply highlights what education is today.
