Many turn to faith in times of doubt or difficulty. There are times when an individual's faith may grow through hardship while others become angry at God and curse Him. Very often people forget to thank God for all the good in their lives. The movie Bruce Almighty is a wonderful educational depiction of God's involvement in people's lives. There is a cross between fantasy and realism that vividly shows the ups and downs of faith through the constant roller coaster of life along with the daily hardships and experiences that society deems associated with being God. Most importantly, the film was designed to show how God is active in every person's life every single day. Bruce Almighty is a fictional story about a man named Bruce Nolan, played by Jim Carrey, who begins the film as a reporter for a local news station. When he doesn't get the promotion he wants as an anchor, he blames God for all the negative things that happen in his life. He is angry at God and claims that he is actually the Devil. Morgan Freeman, who is the actor who plays the human version of God, calls Carrey to meet him and give him the power to be God for a week. Carrey doesn't understand at first, but over time he sees the hardships and responsibilities that Freeman endures every day. By the end of the film, Carrey fully appreciates everything Freeman does for him and has full faith in God again. One of the main Christian ideas in the film is that the traditional idea of God, an "omnipotent" being, exists. We believe that by praying to God, usually at night, all our wishes and “prayers” will be answered. Bade and Cook were referring to prayer associated with managing health situations, but the article shows... middle of paper... present in every area of life. God influences good and evil in your life. This movie shows a good perspective of how things that once seemed bad can be good if you change your perspective and how you see the situation.
